I chose my frame to be my whole body which turned out to be 40 inches because I was squatting down in the position of a catcher playing baseball. The reason I wanted to be in this position is due to my love of baseball and catcher is my primary position. In my picture I have my HTH Storm baseball hat backwards because I wear my hat under my catchers helmet and my catcher's glove with a baseball in the pocket. I also decided to squint in my picture because I am simply an aggressive player so I wanted it to look as realistic as possible.
Now to prove that the two triangles above are similar start with looking at my height in the frame which is 40 inches. If you want to be centered in your photo then you will have the height of your tripod half of how tall you are in the photo which for me would be 20 inches. So I knew that the pinhole camera is 20 mm. deep and 24 mm. high then we can you use that information on how far I need to be from the camera for my picture to turn out. I already know that lines AB∥XY, so given that information I know that ∠A≅∠Y. we also know that ∠ABC≅∠XYC due to the vertical lines shown in the diagram above. Knowing this we can prove that △ABC~△XYC, this is proven by the AA Postulate. after proving the triangles were similar I used a formula that was 20/40=X/24, then I cross multiplied and ended with X= 33
Project Reflection:
One thing that I learned through this project was that if you want a picture to come out you will need to have precise measurements and you will need to calculate the distance, exposure time, and much more. I also learned how to make a pinhole camera which was fun for the most of it. I really enjoyed working with my friend on this project and learning how to calculate the measurements and the formula to a nice photo. If I could go back for this project I would simply just not do it because it was a pain having to develop the film each time and having it come out all black/white which would make it unrecognizable.
