Problem Statement: This problem stated that Noah's ark is divided down the middle and on each deck the animals on the right weigh exactly the same as the animal's on the left except for the third deck. Your job is to find how many seals are needed on the right side of the third deck so its even on both sides.
Process: Well what I started off with was finding the weight of each animal. There were zebras, polar bears, seals, elephants, and kangaroos. I started with the polar bear and I found that they weighed 6 lbs. Then I tried the elephants and they weighed 12 lbs. Kangaroos were 4 lbs, zebras were 2 lbs and seals were 1 lbs. The right side of the third deck had 6 zebras and the right side had 1 polar bear. Now if you use my weights 6 zebras would equal 12 lbs, and 1 polar bear would equal 6 lbs. If seals weigh 1 lb. and you need 6 lbs for that deck to be equal you would need 6 seals.
Solution: As I explained before I found my answer to be 6 seals and I honestly do believe that this isn't the only answer. You can figure that all of the animals are double the weight or triple and so on. I feel that it is all your opinion and what you believe. If you think that a polar bear weighs 4,900 lbs and you can find the weight of a seal than you have an answer. Overall I don't believe that this is the only answer.
Evaluation: I actually really liked this problem because I like picture problems and I am more of a visual learner. I also liked it because it didn't take me too long to complete with the help of my good friend Cesar. I do feel that this problem was a bit too easy but not to the point that I can do it in my head. I honestly do enjoy this problem and I hope more are like this in the sense that there are diagrams. Overall I feel that this problem did challenge me just not as much as other problems.
